Digital Scrapbooking on the Cheap 3a: Fresh Forum Freebies

We've already discussed bloggers who give away new freebies all the time, and websites that have had the same freebie staples up for a long time and are reliable sources of downloads. Now I'm covering forums that consistently give away fresh freebies every month. These five scrapbooking forums give away or compile high-quality freebies on a consistent, reliable schedule. Each forum on this list has had a long track-record, is consistent in their giveaways, and posts high-quality giveaways that I consider worth my time (and hopefully yours) to follow up on.

Gotta Pixel's Daily Download
: Each month, Gotta Pixel releases a full kit one day at a time. You have to download each part of a kit (which consists of a few elements or papers) from the designer's store on the day that it's posted. After that, the only way to get that part is to buy the full kit. Follow their blog to get a head's up about each new part and directions about how to download, or simply return daily to that month's featured designer's store to get the newest download. Check out this month's adorable offering! Hit the store today to download the apple and a paper strip.
Divine Digital's Daily Downloads.
Each month, Divine Digital releases two kits in daily sections. Like Gotta Pixel, you must download each section on the day it's released, as they'll be unavailable after that. And bonus! There are actually two kits each month, which is extra fun. Just go to the "Divine Community" forum, click on the Daily Download subforum with the relevant dates, (here's the one for the next two weeks) and click on each day's thread to get the download link. For the next two weeks, you'll get a gorgeous ocean-themed "Harbor Lights" kit, and after that, who knows?

DigiScrap Obsession's Monthly Color Challenge This is one of my favorites! I actually start checking the new monthly challenge on about the 29th of each month--that's how excited I am! Kim B posts a color palette and invites designers and scrapbookers web-wide to share scrapbook pages or freebies that are coordinated with that challenge. If you post a freebie or a layout, you get her posting gift. But the cool part is that designers from around the web then post links to free kits, papers, quickpages, elements, frames, mega-kits, word art, etc. they've made themed around that palette, and all you have to do is follow those links to the designers' blogs and download tons of material to form one massive collection of color-themed material.

Here's this month's color palette and posting bonus from the forum thread. Remember, if you want this particular element pack, you'll have to post a scrapbook page with these colors in the thread, but you can go over and download all the other freebies that designers will share throughout the month. (BTW: Palettes like this make me wish I had a daughter.)

DigiScrapAddicts
has a daily Free-4-All thread in which members can post links to whatever freebies they're giving away that day. It's a good place to get leads on fabulous materials, and it gets a fair amount of action, so it's worth keeping an eye on.

Digital Scrapbook's Place Weekly Freebie Giveaway. If you think of the kits the other sites give away as the cupcakes and pastries of digiscrapping, think of Digital Scrapbook Place's giveaways as the spices and baking materials. They're not hugely exciting on their own, but you will use them for everything in order to add a ton of versatility to your kits. A lot of their weekly give-aways are things like overlays, mats, doodles, brushes, stamps, etc. Definitely worth checking every Monday.

I hope this helps you get started, and this third part should be the final post about digiscrapping freebies. I know that it's a lot of material to cover, but it's so worth it if you like digiscrapping, and once you get your routine down you'll be able to accumulate a lot of material with very little effort. If you have any questions, let me know! I'd love to help.

Heidi,
Thanks so much for all the work you've put into the scrapbooking posts. I've been wanted to do this for a while now but I keep telling myself I don't have the time or know-how. Your posts have given me the incentive to get going!

Thanks for sharing these! I am a scrapbooker, but I'm a frugal gal too so I am always looking for ways to save.

Stop by and see me over at Free2BeFrugal sometime!
