I try to keep it up to date, but I don't have all the price points memorized, so if you notice discrepancies and point them out to me, I'll make sure to fix them.

@anonymous 2: Wal-Mart is notorious for lacking corporate-wide policies. My personal experience has been that many associates will try to wiggle out of having to price-match an item. The reality is that there is nowhere that you can get a universal policy, at least that I know of, and that your experience will vary not only from store to store, but from associate to associate.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14190778552759490600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-85497896730609170442008-07-02T16:43:00.000-06:002008-07-02T16:43:00.000-06:00I live in Utah and have been visiting my family in...I live in Utah and have been visiting my family in SW Washington. Their nearest Albertson's closed, so I went to Walmart to price match the Albertson's 12-pack soda for $1.25 and was told that they do not match store brands or "card" prices. Besides the very short policy on the Walmart website, is there any other place I can get some sort of official statement that explains their price match policy. I came away with a bad taste in my mouth, but would love to prove them wrong. Any suggestions?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-8835299232738632642008-07-01T15:25:00.000-06:002008-07-01T15:25:00.000-06:00Why is there a difference in the 4 star items on t...Why is there a difference in the 4 star items on the pinching your penny site and the one that you can click on at the bottom of the page? There is quite a big difference in the two lists. I was just wondering why and who does the two different lists.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-84595045596477519302008-06-27T10:57:00.000-06:002008-06-27T10:57:00.000-06:00I have a binder suggestion. It is the same size as the one in your video. The brand is Ampad. IT's just more compact and less awkward to flip through if I did have to take it to the store. I also bought a mini size of this to carry with me to the store. It works because I don't clip coupons until the day I shop and whatever leftover coupons I have I keep in the smaller "wallet" binder. I get my grocery list and shop according to what coupons I have and I use the site grocerysmarts.com to see where my local sales are. PYP is new to me and using both together will be very helpful. Thank you for your help and tips.Blake Benchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15723203822818765723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-1924923129117308402008-06-27T09:28:00.000-06:002008-06-27T09:28:00.000-06:00My local stores have been doing more and more "gim...My local stores have been doing more and more "gimmick" sales that I can't pricematch at Wal-Mart. I used to shop the same way as "anonymous", getting everything at Wal-Mart and price matching my local stores. Then I discovered PYP and my grocery bill has dropped dramatically since I started shopping at my local stores. I live in a land of double coupons and WalMart doesn't double, so I almost always save more money by supporting my local retailers. And I feel like I am doing some good for my community!Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09773831349763680240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-71015154406795937332008-06-27T09:14:00.000-06:002008-06-27T09:14:00.000-06:00It may be possible to pricematch the promotions fr...It may be possible to pricematch the promotions from every other store at certain Walmart stores, but the majority will not pricematch a "gimmick" sale such as $5 off when you buy $5 items, or $3 off when you spend $10 on certain items. If you've found a store that does this consistently, you're a lucky shopper!
And for the record, I didn't say gas stations off the interstate would compete by lowering prices until gas was free and both stations out of business. I said gas prices would stay "in check," meaning competitive with the price at other stations.PYPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12602795819719465668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7450139970925909046.post-49153375335868932742008-06-26T19:02:00.000-06:002008-06-26T19:02:00.000-06:00There is only one problem with shopping for 10 for...There is only one problem with shopping for 10 for $10 deals or any other really goods deals on produce at grocery stores like Albertsons and Smiths. The reality is that many of these items get cleared off the shelves very quickly (especially if they are cheap, or for free with coupons). When I go to Wal-Mart, I can price match Albertsons and/or Smiths and know that those items will be in stock. Also, in general, items are Wal-Mart are priced lower than those at Albertsons. Buy the exact 30 common items and see for yourself (at Wal-Mart and Albertsons).

Also, if you were to buy say 30 common grocery items, these items would be cheaper if you bought them at Wal-Mart (were the prices of most goods are generally lower) instead of Albertsons. Albertsons prices are more expensive than Walmart's prices. I rather price match those item from albertsons ads and do all of my shopping at Wal-mart than make many trips to multiple stores trying to get the best deals (hint: you'll spend a lot of money and time driving around to many stores hoping that there sales items are in stock).

Also, two gas stations off an interstate would not compete by lowering gas prices as it would put both out of business (they would not be able to make profit if the gasoline prices are lower than what they purchased it for.)In this case, it is best to keep the gasoline the same price for both gas stations (otherwise, both gas stations will go out of business!).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
